Team Gecko has been very busy over the past couple of weeks and as a result there is a new product release tomorrow morning. We will update managed servers in the next day or two.
- Custom Code: Where you have custom code on your website please review the site tomorrow morning and let us know if there are any issues.
- NetRegistry: Many of our clients use NetRegistry for DNS and/or email. Over the past few days there have been several issues causing websites to disappear or email and other services to simply stop working. This has all been caused by attacks on their services by hackers. We believe this will be resolved shortly, you can read more about the issue here.
Infrastructure & Support
Servers: Over the past few months we have been working on upgrading our resources and as a result all the servers in the JWG fleet have been replaced in the past month and are now monitored 24/7. We have also added additional tools and processes to improve quality control and reporting. Hopefully you won’t have noticed 🙂
Apps: We now have Apps available using both Android and iOS for Enrolment and VET Campus /LMS. Please ask us about them.
VETtrak Online – Enrolment & VET Campus

LMS – Ezy & VET
- Free SCORMs & Resources: There are around 2000 free resources available on the Flexible Learning framework site and we are adding support for these to be listed in the LMS and, probably in the next release, use them in your online courses – just another way we are trying to make eLearning easier for RTOs.
- Guides and Videos: We will be release a new LMS manual this week as well as some very useful videos for the LMS. We are developing several each week and are keen to receive your feedback and ideas for future topics.
- New question type and process: Additional free test question with progression on submission.
- Drag n Drop Question type: Each month we are going to be adding a new question type to the LMS – let us know what you would like to see and in what order.
- Bugs and fixes: Improved reporting back to VETtrak, removed several unused fields to simplify the view for administrator, add a work around for a bug in Java that affected the uploader in the LMS and EcoArc, updated the assessment weighting mechanism.
- Store additional information on enrolment for the particular course instance – Enhancement
- Show student’s score on their admin course and course details page – Enhancement
- Adding commencement rules for assignments and courses – Enhancement
- New ‘Continue Learning’ links for students on programme and course pages – Enhancement

Cherry Framework
- Field length indicator: Where there is a limit to the number of characters allowed to be entered we now have an indicator to let you know how close you are to the limit. This is not currently on all fields.
- Upgrade Search in Admin: The new search functionality search the site index and user history. The value of the history weighting is degraded over 90 days.
- Improvements for admin template to improve load speed – Enhancement
- Error page now links back to admin if within admin – Enhancement
- Numerous improvements for support requests
