Cherry 14.6.1 Release

Hi Everyone,

Wednesday is release day for your JWGecko product set! There are 42 [the magic number] Enhancements, new features and fixes. When you receive our email about the release tomorrow please do a test enrolment on your website that includes the use of any customisation.

Release management and testing:

• Please do a test enrolment on your site this morning and let us know if you see anything unusual
• Customisation needs to be tested as usual
• Own-server clients please discuss the release plan with Troy today or tomorrow.

 

The High Points:

• LMS meets Forum in VET LMS – Standard: Imagine forums and discussion groups that enhance engagement and reinforce learning in a controlled environment – your LMS: Groups based around student interest – Programme Types & Programmes; Groups for cohorts – Occurrences for course and assignment discussions; Assessable discussions too! Available now as a fee add-on for VET LMS customers.
• VET Campus for Admissions Staff – Add-on: How cool would it be for you admissions staff to be able to handle enrolment face to face or on the phone via VET Campus using the same tested and audited eligibility logic of your online enrolment form, take cash deposits and not use one of your VETtrak user licences – Got that!
• VTG Dual Qual Enrolment – Add-on: A funding levels drop RTOs need to be entrepreneurial in getting the most value for their students and themselves – a Dual Qual enrolment with a fall-back for single Qual if the student is not eligible is now available for Skills Vic contracted RTOs.
• Date of Birth Alert – Config: We have updated the date of birth field so that applicants are alerted immediately if they are too young to complete the training. This addition launches a workflow for parental consent that includes a new “Parent step”, CC notifications and merge field consent form.
• AVETMISS on Check-in – Config: Are you concerned about putting the collection of data before a credit card payment? We are too and so we have added an avetmiss completion step when the student logs on to VET Campus or the LMS for online learning or prerequisites. • VET Campus & LMS in mini tablets – Standard: Get your own branded APP NOW!

Audit tools for learning Support Team:

Language checks – When a student records an English level of not well or not at all we are able to alert your learning support team
Disability checks – checks – When a student enters a disability we alert your learning support team
General Special Requirements– When a student adds a comment into the “Special requirements” field an alert is sent to your learning support team
Student declarations and agreements – the date and time of acceptance is recorded in the students notes field and the enrolment description field.

 

 

 

VETtrak Online V4.4

Enhancement

• Improved support for configuring deposits for enrolment
• Improved notifications for scheduled payments
• Can now specify payment options specifically for funded enrolments
• Improved logic around payment method selection for various enrolment scenarios, free, funded etc.
• Updated funding logic for VTG and QLD Cert III Guarantee
• Whether to show cost on enrolment and training pod is now configurable

New Feature

• New add-on for Dual Qual enrolments on one enrolment, with incorporated funding checks
• Optional inline form validation for enrolment
• New add on for group CITB enrolment
• New admin page for an occurrence, showing pricing for the occurrence

Fix

• Ensure non published locations don’t show on site

 

VET Campus V1.3

Enhancement

• Monitoring and notification of log in issues to JWGecko
• Improvements to update process to run quicker
• Better support for users in VET Campus in multiple roles, e.g. Trainer and Student
• AVETMISS and profile check on log in are now configurable, whether on or off
• New tabs view for occurrences
• Show LMS assignments for students in their diary
• Show LMS marking for trainers in Latest Updates
• Improved log in speed
• Mobile template no longer used for VET Campus
• Terms and Conditions, and Welcome Content now have options for showing when updated, and when terms are accepted, this is written to the client notes in the SMS

New Feature

• New add on for allowing Employers to create student enrolment referrals
• New threaded discussions/forums functionality

Fix

• Prevent students with cancelled enrolments showing for attendance marking

Enhancement

• Ensure menu names for items are used in front end where appropriate
• New merge fields for notifications for student username and password
• Option to enrol students from a VETtrak occurrence ID
• Marker picker now additionally shows staff associated to the student if so configured
• Programmes can now be deleted
• Review and improve marking functionality within VET Campus
• Can now specify a wildcard for answer matching in quizzes
• Student listing for item, such as course, now shows score where available
• When editing the Allow posts property for items, this will indicate whether posts are not enabled for the item or globally
• Summary of item displayed in tree now shows who copied an item

New Feature

• Additional permissions level that works from staff associated to the student
• New threaded discussions/forums functionality, including assessable discussions
• Can now specify help for makers (marking guide) for each question in a quiz

Fix

• Ensure release rules are checked for programmes and courses

• Better server monitoring scripts with automatic recovery
• Improvements to internal caching engine, e.g. to support long lived items
• Faster perms lookup and admin page generation
