VET BI Report Jan 2020: Holiday Season

New RTOs in Jan 2020

As one might expect, January was a slow month for new business activity with only 2 new RTOs registered:

QLD
45576 Vocational Training Queensland (Training)
SA
45575 Construction Training Academy Pty Ltd (Agriculture)

Restrictions

There were 7 restrictions added in January (and 2 ended), including a total of 5 RTOs deregistered.

General Suspension
40542 Phytodermal Institute of Beauty Pty Ltd (Sydney CBD and Inner Suburbs, Beauty).
41470 Family Day Care Plus Pty. Ltd. (Australian Capital Territory, ).
45289 Alpha Institute of Business (Sydney Western Suburbs, Business).
45351 Iris Training Institute Pty Ltd (Sydney South West, First Aid).
1964 Global Institute of Education (Brisbane South and East, Business) – cancelled following sanction.

Some qualifications or units suspended from scope
41389 International College of Excellence Pty Ltd (Sydney CBD and Inner Suburbs, Alternative Therapy).

Requirement to notify on commencement (non-sanction)
32323 Training Synergies Pty Ltd (Melbourne CBD and Inner Suburbs, Business).
45407 Vertical Zone Pty Ltd (Melbourne CBD and Inner Suburbs, Financial Services).

Restrictions ended
88105 Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre Ltd (Australian Capital Territory, Business) – disputed scope permanently removed.

Training component changes

According to a report on BitQT Test, January was another very quiet month for training component updates. New accredited courses were added and updated in the high-tech fields of blockchain and biotechnology.

A lot of changes can happen in a normal month, with many RTOs automatically adding new equivalent components to their scope. With VET BI, you set your watch list to notify you when a competitor in your regions of interest adds an item to scope in an category you are interested in. This gives you a more tightly focused view of your competitors changes to scope.

Funding changes

There was only a single change to government funding in January, with 4567 SWC Training (Broad scope) being added in SA.

VET BI can provide you with email alerts about who’s getting funding (and who’s not) that is targeted to your subjects and regions of interest.
